VBU orders Amartya Sen to vacate 13 decimal land within 15 days, triggering controversy

Vishwa Bharati University's order for Nobel laureate Amartya Sen to vacate 13 decimal land in Shanti Niketan has caused a controversy.

The university's directive has been challenged by Sen's lawyer Gorachand Chakraborty and other lawyers in a case filed in the Birbhum district judge's court.

The hearing could not take place on Thursday as there was no district judge, and the next date of hearing has been set for May 15.

All parties have been instructed to appear in the hearing through notice.
